Georgia Sober Living Program Sets Up An After Care Program For Graduates

The pain that is Alcoholism is unbearable at times.  Watching the tragedy of the addict and the lives they touch with their addiction is something you never really get use to.  Even as a recovering addict that knows he was the center of the chaos and caused the pain and suffering, it still jolts you.   I think you become calloused to it to some degree but it finds it's way through the tough exterior after a while. 

The opposite of all of this is the Hope and watching the light go off in somebody that has made a decision to turn their will and lives over to the care of something besides themselves and then watching their lives and those around them start to come back together.  That is what makes it all worth while. 

Well we have been blessed here at The Arches Recovery Program to have another resident make it through the program and return to their family.  This person stayed committed throughout the process and took all of the suggestions, even the one's he didn't want to.  That's what it takes, doing the stuff that makes you uncomfortable. 

We have decided to set up a little aftercare program for the individuals that graduate our initial program and continue to join us for our house meetings and other outings we will have.  This can be an important aspect to our program by having the current clients talk to someone that has transitioned back into their everyday life and how the dynamics of that are handled.
